Recently the English newspaper Tribune has claimed in a report that our AADHAR information is not secure.
The newspaper claims that he purchased millions of people’s AADHAR information from a person via WhatsApp, But the issuing institution of AADHAR, i.e. UIDAI rejecting the claim of the newspaper and said that all the information related to AADHAR is safe.
There is concern about privacy, the debate of AADHAR and confidentiality is quite old.
The Supreme Court has been debating it for a long time; the court gave right of privacy as a fundamental right.
The newspaper claims that only the number of the Aadhaar card insert in the portal which given by the agent you can get the name, address, postal code, photo, number and email of people registered with UIDAI can be seen within 10 minutes on this portal.UIDAI rejected the news and said, “All AADHAR data, including biometric information, is completely secure”.

UIDAI said that any misuse of AADHAR data could be easily traced and UIDAI’s officials claim that he had complete information about every activity related to AADHAR.
SUPREME COURT ON RIGHT TO PRIVACY
In 2015, the then attorney general Mukul Rohatgi told the Supreme Court that there is no mention of the right to privacy in the Indian Constitution. Therefore, the right to privacy cannot be cited in the case of AADHAR.
The present attorney general, K.K. Venugopal also referred to the Kharad Singh case of 1963 in the court saying neither the constitution of Article 21 nor Section 19 (1) is mentioned about right to privacy.
After this, the Supreme Court constituted the Bench, and the Bench gave the historical judgment on August 24, 2017, assuming the right to privacy as a Fundamental Rights.
Arun Jaitley said about Aadhaar card in assembly
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had said in parliament during the discussion on the Bill related to the AADHAR, there is a provision to keep secret information of India people in Chapter Six of the legislator, and Under Part 8, any information can be shared with the wishes of the person.
Jaitley said that biometric data could not be shared with anyone, any judge above the district magistrate can demand any data related to the AADHAR, and also for national security, data can be shared.
Why AADHAR card facing obstacle
The AADHAR opponents argue that the whole obligation to share information in the hands of UIDAI officials in the name of National Security, also information sharing law made easier.
There are many more questions being raised about the Aadhaar. It is being alleged that the authority is taking the support of many private companies to create AADHAR card, so there is no guarantee that these companies Do not commercial use for their benefits. The government can use AADHAR card data to monitor citizen too.

History of AADHAR card
First AADHAR number was released on 29 September 2010, UIDAI issued 25 million Aadhaar cards in 2012 every month an average of around 2 million per month. 111 million people’s Aadhaar number has been granted the till 2017.
